The bloggers made me do it.

Blog-pressure is the new peer-pressure. EVERYONE and their cousin, have either already read or are reading Twilight. I'm one of those people who have to see what the fuss is all about. I was the same way with the Dan Brown books, and Harry Potter. Of course I ended up loving everything by both authors, but then that's my problem. I love to read, and once I read a book and love it I scour the stacks to find everything that particular author has written. What's worse if it's about to be a movie I have to read it quicker, because I hate to see a movie that is based on a book that is super popular without reading it first. There are always exceptions, but not many.
I'm speaking, of course, of Twilight. I was in WalMart today and just happened to be walking down their book aisle and there it was. How could I pass it by when I've been dying to read it. I've been reading on so many blogs, about how great it is and just had to see what the fuss is about. I've already warned my husband that if I like it (and something tells me I will-- I know Kat at Sunshine and Lemonade has read it and there are so many books she's suggested over the years that I've loved), that we'll have to see the movie. Will I like the movie? I usually like the book better than the movie, case in point is the new series on the WB "Legend of the Seeker". This is based on the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I am a scifi/fantasy gal. I love reading action/adventure mingled in with a fantastical realm where fairies and wizards and dragons live. So, when I heard that they were making Terry Goodkind's book, Wizard's First Rule, into a series I was so excited. The series started last weekend on the WB, and well..it's like so many movies that have come from a book. You have to forget everything you've ever read and treat it as it's own entity. I'm going to continue to watch it, just so I can see how they've translated one of my favorite stories to the screen. I have the same feelings when it came to the second movie in the Narnia series. The book was so much better, but that is often the case in my opinion. Not all movies disappoint me. I absolutely loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy and thought Peter Jackson did an amazing job.
Will I love Twilight, as I much anticipate I will? Will I see the movie? What about any of you? Have you read Twilight? Will you see the movie? Do you prefer movies or the books they are based on? Any that you were disappointed with? Any you think they did great?

Yay! On the Twilight bandwagon! We are counting down the days to the movie.

I think that they did a fabulous job with the Harry Potter movies. As for horrible adaptations - I heard that "The Other Boleyn Girl" was bad. Oh, and "Prince of Tides" was horrendous!

Congratulations on your win over at Kat's place.

I have recently jumped on the Twilight band-wagon myself. And I love it. Can't wait to see the movie.

How funny that I just found your blog (via Kat)! I was the same with the Twilight series and I was walking by it this weekend and ended up getting it. Great read! Congrats on the weekend winner!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was a little resistant at first to read these books. I worried I'd like them too much and become a litle obsessed LOL! I finally picked up Twilight yesterday and am trying to find a good block of time to read it. I could be up all night! I love to read too. Thanks for stopping by my blog:)
